Artifax Design is a custom furniture and upholstery store that has been serving Kitsilano for over 40 years. At our shop in Richmond we build high quality, contemporary wood and upholstered furniture, carefully reupholster existing furniture, and build custom cabinets and kitchens that last; all from mostly natural materials.
History:
Artifax Design was founded in 1977 by graduate architect Douglas Nickel in his garage with the goal to create contemporary Canadian Furniture. For the last 40+ years our skilled artisans have been producing quality furniture pieces, hand crafted from mostly natural materials. Additionally, throughout these years Artifax has remained local, with our retail store in Vancouver and work shop in Richmond.

Our work is ergonomic, durable, and affordable; the 3 most difficult and desirable design criteria. We have been able to create such high quality pieces for reasonable prices by accumulating a large inventory of wood, leather, and fabric over 40+ years.
In addition to our own designs, we can custom make your own ideas. From custom seating arrangements, to large scale projects like restaurants and hotels, we can do it all.
